Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

Imagine yourself as a new car buyer. You walk into a showroom full of shiny new cars to consider. There are coupes, convertibles, trucks, sedans, hatchbacks, SUVs, and crossovers. You survey the selection and decide you want something with some off road ability. That's fine. Consider trucks, some crossovers, and SUVs. But what if you want a convertible too? You probably assume you're out of luck. Not true.

Nissan has just the car for you. They've created a high-riding, convertible crossover. It's called the Murano CrossCabriolet.

Nissan actually believes this car will sell, but I find that very hard to believe.

It only has four seats, so it's not a practical crossover. It also has crummy handling, so its not as fun as most convertibles. With those facts in mind, its hard to see why the CrossCabriolet is a smart buy.

If you are a new car buyer walking into a showroom full of new cars. Don't buy one as confused as the CrossCabriolet. It simply doesn't make sense.

If you've got the $47,200 needed to bring this car home, and you want a Japanese convertible and SUV, avoid the CrossCabriolet. Buy a normal Murano and a three year old Miata instead. Get real.
