Honda develops a new 2.2 liter diesel unit with 150 PS (110 kW / 148 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque
Honda has released more details on the upcoming Euro-spec 2012 Civic model and it touting the car's new diesel unit as a mark of its competitiveness.
The new i-DTEC engine is a 2.2 liter unit with an output of 150 PS (110 kW / 148 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque with a very competitive CO2 emissions quotient of 110 g/km. Models fitted with a manual transmission also get an idle-stop system that shaves 5 g/km off of the standard CO2 figure.
Says Katsushi Watanabe, Development Leader for the i-DTEC, "Reducing the emissions was our key target and we're proud to say that we have achieved this without compromising the high performance character of the engine. We want our customers to have fun when they drive this car."
